Many people like to purchase their own moving blankets for fear of what the rental blankets just may have on or in them. However, once that day is over, they look at the pile of blankets and wonder why they have wasted all of their money. This is absolutely the wrong way to look at this because once the move is done, your blankets still have plenty of purpose to their lives.
If you have a garden, you may want to think about using them to fight off some of the frost that will often damage your flowers and plants as the seasons change. Overnight damage happens quite often in the winter and by using the quilted moving blankets to cover them until the sun shows back up, you can save yourself a lot of work once spring time rolls back around.
For those that like the outdoors, you may find that your moving blankets will make for great bedding. You can lay the blankets either under the tent or on the floor of the tent to give you some insulation from the cold ground. This will also soften the floor of the tent and make for a good night's rest.
They are just as useful on the beach. After the move, throw them in the washer and get them cleaned up and then put them down when you go to the beach. You can have one large blanket that whole family can enjoy instead of struggling with a small towel to try and get comfortable.
It is pretty easy to see that the life of your moving blanket will serve a lot of purposes. With the cost of the rentals, it actually makes perfect sense to buy them. Whether you think this is your last move or have at least one more left in you, there are plenty of other things to do with your moving blankets than just protecting your furniture.
